Do you remember when albums would be released on a Monday? Not anymore! Beyonce has switched up the game yet again with her latest release, Lemonade, which was announced and promoted with a one-hour surprise documentary style promo, aired on Saturday 23 April on television network, HBO.
The lengthy concept clip was broken up into 11 chapters, which comprised of a number of personal themes such as infidelity and Black Lives Matter. The structure of the video was reminiscent of Jean-Luc Godard’s 1962 film Vivre Sa Vie. Both Vivre Sa Vie and Lemonade follow women who are determined to live and reclaim their lives on their own terms… something we’re huge fans of at MeeBox HQ.
Lemonade is available through the online streaming service Tidal, which is run by Queen B’s hubby, Jay-Z. Here’s a preview of what’s on the album…
